Atskuri Fortress XI c. AD - is a fortress of Feudal period on Mtkvari's right bank, 30 km from Borjomi, in Atskuri village. Atskuri protected Borjomi Gorge from South. Fortress builders had skillfully used high and difficult to access cliff relief and created complex in terms of building and at the same time interesting monument. One can get into the fortress through the narrow tunnel in the rock. Even after passing the tunnel, it was hard ford the enemy to invade the castle due to its internal structure.
