Sapara Monastery X-XI cc. AD is the Medieval Georgian monument that was a residence of Samtskhe's Jakhely owner. It was constructed no later than X c. AD and is located next to Ghreli village in Akhaltsikhe Municipality. The earliest building in the complex is the XX c. unbolted Church (the church's iconostasis fragments are kept in the Museum of Fine Arts). The main Church of St. Saba, Bell Tower and Palace are dated to the end of XIII c. and the beginning of the XIV c. during Beka Mandatukhucesi's ruling. Jakheli have turned Sapara Monastery into their residence. Russian Monks had rebuilt the abandoned monastery in the XIX c.
